Cammarata was born with a keen business sense and entrepreneurial spirit. He made his first million at the ripe age of 13 and later translated that prodigy into a variety of other sectors including biotechnology, advertising, electronics and entertainment. By injecting his enthusiasm for the natural product industry into the Schmidt's brand, Cammarata has elevated its positioning as the “New Face of Natural” alongside heavyweights like P&G and Unilever. In June of 2017 Cammarata was awarded Earnst and Young's Entrepreneur of The Year Award for Retail and Consumer Products in the Pacific Northwest Region of the United States.
